Stylish & sheik, but not very comfy...
By S. Carter
After much deliberation and searching for a nice couch/sleeper I decided on this guy here. Assembly is easy. It is however probably a 2 man job in terms of carrying it in the house. I assembled it myself, but I would recommend some help if you can get it to make it a smoother build. It comes in 2 boxes and the arms are all that needs to be attached. I would recommend using your own tools, though it does come with a sheet metal punched wrench that fits the nuts. Use a 14mm socket wrench to make this less tedious. I would also recommend using a small level to get the alignment correct on the attachment of the 4 wooden block feet. There are no pre-drilled holes in the actual couch for the legs, recess about 2 inches in for support and the level to make sure your alignment of the legs isn't cockeyed compromising stability. As for the look of the couch, nice! It has a very regal and nice look, perfect for the mancave it now resides in. The material is very "leather-like" and seems thick and durable. The actual cushions are stiff/firm, though it does have pocket spring coils underneath making it a bit more comfortable. I am 6 foot 3 and I can lay in it perfectly. The middle cushion folds down for a small table like surface, I run my wireless mouse on it (my computer monitor is my 37 inch wall mounted t.v.). I don't believe it would be suitable for high traffic situations such as a den or play area, but definately for a large office, recreational area or a mancave like mine will work nicely. It does fold out into a full size bed, but probably not for a permanent situation, possibly best for a buddy or a temporary guest to crash on though. I would also recommend purchasing an ottoman if you values kicking back as I do in my mancave, it has a posture stiffening kind of feel to it. Finally the 2 arms have a deep welled storage area that is pretty cool for magazines, remotes or any other items you prefer. At 8 inches deep & 24 inches long by 6 inches wide, pretty darn spacious. If you are searching for a durable, high traffic sofa- this probably isn't for you. But if are you searching for an occasional and regal looking piece of useful furniture for a guestroom or office- and you are looking to impress- this would be a good buy for you. All in all, NICE!I will leave a follow-up review after it has been used for awhile to affirm any changes in my opinion on it.

Nce Couch
By David
After assembling the couch, It seemed like it was going to fall apart right away, however I've had the couch for over a month now and am happy with it. I live in a small apartment with roomates and I sleep on it everynight. I have people over quite often and it has held up well. Interesting too see how long it will last me. Also too the storage compartments in the arms are nice also. I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone.

As expected, and perfect for our needs
By Amy
I'm very pleased with the appearance and functionality of the couch. The quality was pretty much as expected for the price. However, it absolutely STINKS some strong chemical scent when it arrives and the house needs to be aired out; not sure what sort of VOCs we're breathing off this product but it's been a few days and the room is still smelly. I haven't bought a new couch in forever (or maybe ever), so maybe they are all this way, especially with this vinyl leather-look stuff; I don't know. Here is something that may be important for you to know: we have this couch in a narrow space and didn't expect that there would be an angle to the backrest part of the couch. (Think of a futon that has an angled back.) When first assembled it looked like it couldn't be pushed flush up against the wall. But we did just that and pushed it straight up against the wall until the back was vertical, and it seems like it will work perfectly fine this way. It might be more comfortable if the back rest has the actual angle to it, but we plan on adding pillows to make it comfy. We could not have it sticking out from the wall in our narrow space with the actual angle that it rests in when upright.
