trundle casters are not strong enough

The bed itself is nice and looks good. the problem is that the trundle part of the bed has these 4 tiny, cheap casters that are pretty much guaranteed to break off. they are just not strong enough to support the weight of the bed and even a normal (less than 130 pound) person. The casters break off and split the wood. On the plus side i did call the seller and they sent me 4 additional casters. I installed them today and so now i have 8 casters on the trundle instead of 4 and i am hoping that will distribute the weight enough that they will not break. The seller (Mayfair) was very nice and did not charge me for the additional wheels. Keep your installation sheet, they need the part number to send you the replacement wheels.

Warning - This Bed Does Not Come As Pictured

When fully assembled there is a three inch gap between the bed rail and the top of the front panel of the trundle. So, when the trundle is close you can clearly see the mattress and bedding on the bottom bed. If you look at the photos displayed here it clearly looks like when closed you would see nothing below. A call to the company confirmed that there is supposed to be that gap. I don't buy it, they are clearly covering up for a poorly manufactured item. After putting it all together I am now supposed to take it apart and send it back?Day Bed with Trundle Mission Style in Cherry Finish

Satisfied with the bed/ delivery and packaging issues

After getting the bed put together, I am happy with it, however.... The original packing material was cheap styrofoam that crumbled into a mess when I uncrated the bed. As others mentioned, it was taped up severely, taking a while to get the bed out of the three boxes, followed by a considerable amount of work cleaning up the mess and hauling off the boxes. The end pieces of the bed were broken and needed to be replaced which took an additional two weeks to receive (so a total of 1 month overall). For the price and by adding good matresses, this bed is exactly what I wanted when I ordered it. The company selling it thru Amazon (Visiondecor furniture) was prompt and gracious in their effort to provide replacement parts and make sure my needs were accomodated. The replacement parts were wrapped in better material that would likely have prevented the original problem if this material were used to begin with and it also would have eliminated the mess; good ole bubble wrap.
